Ran the circumnavigation route the morning of Sept. 6/2020 unsupported carrying my own water and nutrition. The route is a combination of roughly 50% rocky shale double track (first 7km and last 6km) with the middle section being a combination of boulder hopping, and rocky/rooty grown in single track. The route itself is very well marked and easy to follow considering how grown in part of it can be. It was more challenging than expected given that there is not a ton of overall elevation change but a very fun trail to put an effort in on! Oddly enough Ben Urbanski ran the trail the same day as I and was within two minutes of my time, we both were well below the prior FKT of 2:35. My time comes from the Strava segment created for the route.
