I started at the Altamont Kiosk at noon on May 3, 2026, and headed south toward Manhattan. I was fortunate to have an incredible support team throughout the journey. During the attempt, I encountered several days of cold and rainy weather.

I followed the latest official route based on the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference guide, with the exception of the following necessary detours due to trail closures:

  • Section 35 (Indian Ladder): Closed for the off-season; I followed the top of the escarpment.
  • Section 31 (Vroman’s Nose): Closed to protect Peregrine falcon nesting; I followed a parallel trail (photo attached).
  • Section 2 (Tallman Mountain State Park): Closed for construction shortly before the border; I followed the required detours (photo attached).

This FKT is dedicated to our community, with special gratitude to the New York–New Jersey Trail Conference for their continued stewardship and preservation of these trails. Their dedication made this accomplishment possible. Additionally, this FKT attempt was also an opportunity to highlight women’s empowerment and demonstrate that women are capable of achieving extraordinary goals.I am deeply grateful to everyone who was a part of this adventure and supported me during this adventure.
