We started at 6:41am at the Krom River hiking trail parking lot. There was some cloud cover hovering on Du Toits peak which we would ultimately climb into. As soon as we got to the summit of Du Toits Peak the clouds lifted and we were treated with some spectacular views of the Yellow wood Ampitheatre and the Du Toits Kloof. The route from Du Toits to Goudini Sneeukop is classic Cape Mountains with many interesting Rock formations. We got to Goudini Sneeukop in clear conditions and the views from the summit are well worth the journey.
But then there is the descent into Rawsonville. The last 4km is on Jeep track which is a welcomed break from the +-3km of fynbos bundu bash which precedes it. Those 3km are guaranteed to trigger a sense of humor failure.
Overall it was a spectacular route and a wonderful day to be out there.
