Started at the Willow Springs trailhead at 6am March 3. Stopped at gas stations in Lockport and Joliet before dinner at the subway in Channahon. Was hurting coming into Morris so I stopped for breakfast and coffee. The meal helped push me through Seneca and Marseilles where I stopped at two more gas stations. Final stop was at the Ottawa Jimmy Johns. It started storming badly about 12 miles from the finish so I hunkered down and had a wet morning finish, arriving in LaSalle just before noon on March 5th. Would like to do this unsupported but don’t trust the water with all the agriculture nearby and don’t wanna carry it all. Self supported was fun with all the gas stations and food so close to the trail.
