A detailed trip report can be found on Trail Flow.
The mountains turned it on for the first day of this solo mission.
On Cradle I climbed above windy wet clouds to see the start of sunrise and an amazing moon. The Barn Bluff side trip was also above the clouds and bathed in sunshine. Oakleigh summit was clagged before I was treated to sunset on Ossa and nautical twilight on Pelion East. Just when it was all too good, the moon rose as a big orange ball while descending back to Pelion Gap.
With the mountain ascents finished by 9pm, the experiment of what it’s like to run through the night began. A relatively quick conclusion was made by 11:45pm that running all night is busted for me so bivvied in the forest near the waterfalls for 3 hours.
I felt like a new person with fresh legs after rest - at least for a couple of hours - then tiredly fumbled, faffed and somehow finished the mission.
It was an adventure of a lifetime!
