I gave the Supported Badwater to Whitney Duathlon a go! Such a challenging route with so many variables that have to line up for a clean run. I felt really strong on both the ride and ascent of the Mountaineers route and really got lucky with the weather. It was a beautiful day.
I had a support crew help me in the ride with feeds and bike transitions. I rode the TT bike from Badwater to Stovepipe Wells, road bike from Stovepipe to the top of the climb near the Father Crowley overlook, back on the TT bike into Lone Pine and finally back to the road bike to climb up Whitney Portal.
My support crew helped with my gear transition at Whitney Portal. I had a videographer accompany me on the Mountaineers route and my fiancee met us at the top.
I used my watch to track the full effort and my bike computer to track the ride portion and powermeter data. At the final bike swap I accidentally ended my ride, so I started a new ride for the Whitney Portal climb.
