I came across this route while and decided to run it while visiting a friend in FL. Fun run, but challenging day. The course has a fair amount of sugar sand, which wears your legs out. I'm from Pittsburgh and the weather has turned cool up there already. Thus, I'd lost my heat acclimation. The first third of the run was fun; then the heat caught up to me and I thought I was going to have to cut it short. Fortunately, the rain came in. As soon as the sun went in, I was able to run again. I ran out of hydration fluid with less than 3 miles to go; I figured I could run a 10K without water, so I'd be fine. I got off course twice in the last 2 miles - both time the trail looked like it went one way, but I needed to turn to stay on course (I used the gpx from Chris Koestline as a course). The Ranger station has a nice water fountain with filtered water, so I was able to rehydrate when I got back. Took one photo a few miles from the end of the course.
