wow! what a route! I had never been on any of these trails before, so I made sure to try to pay special attention to route finding and still got off track a few times due to the technical and rugged nature of this trail. I carried 3 liters of water and filled at the water source near the top of Blackrock but definitely could have used more water on this hot day. The ridge was so fun to explore and I loved finding each of the six summits. The "trail" to the last summit of Plott Balsam was extremely overgrown and difficult to navigate. The view at Blackrock Knob was my absolute favorite with the rhododendrons just starting to bloom.
