The boys got it done. Goal was sub 8 hours. Shoutout to ribena blackcurrant purple drink for fuelling the run. This was my third time doing the trail (previously as a hiking trip over 4 days and 3 days). Jamie's first time. We had a later start but perfect conditions. Had one small error where we started to follow another trail that was well marked but caught ourselves and doubled back. This trail is gorgeous but relentless, very tough to keep up a good pace on this terrain and elevation. Felt like sam and frodo bringing the ring to mordor, as you get closer to to the end, the ring gets heavier. Or in this case, the trail just feels harder. We brought snacks and re-filled water at wright's lake.
