This route is a beauty.i think due to its high percentage of single track woodland and mud probably the best we have here in the south east as a way marked route.iv done this route quite a few times and it always gets better.Started at 7:45 am and finished at 1:42:49 pm.i did this unsupported and it took me 5 hours 57 mins and 49 seconds.i started at selling train station as there’s easy parking and a signpost .if you wanted ,getting a train to do the route would be a great idea and stashing a bag would be quite easy.after 1 mile the mud gets pretty extreme and theres some nice crawling through bushes to be done as the wild bison always trample this section .mud and flooding persists as this is ancient woodland that’s been left in tact and all the better for it.the route passes by pretty smooth due to its underfoot conditions and changing scenery .you pass through some small outskirts of villages but mostly quite a quiet time .to find any shops you would have to come off route .Around mile 22 you head up through Victory Wood and have a lovely view of the east coast. I’d recommend this route ,like any around here they offer a lovely sense of fulfilment.this ones particularly good if your getting ready for things like the spine or arc.
