I ran entire C&O Canal Towpath, 184.5 miles on foot. I started in Cumberland, Maryland at 9:00am on Friday, September 25th with the goal of finishing in Georgetown, DC at 9:00am on Sunday, September 27th for a total of 48 hours on the towpath. I ended up completing the entire distance (plus a few extra miles gained from making bathroom stops and aid stations just off the trail) in 2 day, 5 hours, 39 minutes, and 32 seconds. I was supported by crew and pacers along the way and had aid throughout the event. See the itinerary tab on this spreadsheet for aid, crew, and pacers.
This FKT was absolutely awesome and at times, awful. It was the hardest thing I've ever done. However, I achieved the distance with the love and support of my friends and family. I will be typing up a full report in the next couple days. I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to complete this journey.
Note: The Garmin LiveTrack system went down during my event so it looked like I DNFed, but my Garmin Fenix 6s recorded everything.
