I trail ran/hiked this steady steep climb up to McLellan Butte . The first 2 miles were a gradual climb and easily runnable. Miles 3-5 became much steeper and covered with sleet and snow . The terrain had a lot of roots and is quite rocky. You cross 3 major waterfalls, and in the winter avalanches are common. This time of year there was heavy snow from miles 3 to 5 (the summit) with 40 mph wind gusts. The climbing became much slower at mile 4 when you have 1000+ ft vertical ascent in the 4th mile. All in all it was a beautiful climb.
