First FKT, and first FKT as a proud non-binary athlete!
Headed out from the trailhead a little after 8:30am. Quiet, foggy. Not many people until I hit between the two peaks.
I've done the east peak before, and I forgot how unrelentingly steep it is. It just keeps going up. Dealt with some blood pressure and blood sugar issues during the steepness up to the first peak (the joys of being a chronically ill runner). Enjoyed the run between. Decided halfway up the Chimeny that it was not made for us shorter runners, so I did the little bypass to the side.
Osceola summit was totally fogged in, so tagged the survey marker and headed back. Saw lots of hikers for the second time on the way back and many wanted to chat about trail running as the clock was ticking. :) Uneventful way down, and got a better running pace in during the last two miles.
Carried all food and water along with an inReach and other essentials. Made it back to trailhead a little before 12:30.
