Started and finished this from Noethycote Farm Park, as others have before - if starting early the car park is shut so use nearby neighbourhood.
It rained every step of the way, which made me thankful for my trail shoes. The actual route is far more suited to road shoes than trails, particularly through the warmer months, even the field sections are pretty dry at this point, there is only one shirt section of ankle deep mud.
The canal sections and field sections are the nicest bits, the route is quite road heavy.
As others have done before, I used the gpx from Mr Lopez, which was perfect. I still managed to go off track and add about a mile at the half way point, so I had to get a shuffle on in final stages.
On a good day with good nav, the four hour mark could be obliterated by someone out there.
