Started on February 15th 2026 at 7:15am with a beautiful sunrise at Lee Pass. Temps were absolutely perfect!
Had lots of fun navigating the creek crossing but was surprised how much sand running there was. The trail conditions definitely made for hard running - the first half is sandy/ rocky, then the second half was super muddy and much slower going than I thought (though, mud is to be expected in Zion in the winter).
I planned on doing this supported with crew at Hop Valley and Lava Point, however they missed me at both spots, so I guess it was kinda unsupported after all? My husband did pop out of the woods once in between so I'm submitting it as supported.
I didn't really need crew, but it would have been nice to not have to ration 1L of water for this whole run haha. Regardless, huge success and and absolute stunner of a route! I hope more people go for this again post-rockslide.
Finished just before 1pm at the Grotto - the last 5 miles were incredibly crowded so beware of that. Also, the shuttle wasn't running this early in the year so I got a nice little extra 5-6mile run out to the visitor center.
