Started in the village of Tarnbrook in the Forest of Bowland at 10:19am. After messing about with the GPS on my phone and losing a tonne of time, I got going proper after a few KMs. Had all my kit for the day including food and water on my back to remain unsupported for the duration (though in hindsight I would have taken less food and more water). Weather conditions were very windy, but fine. Most of the fields and trails were incredibly boggy however, after recent constant rain.
Hit the banks of the Wyre in Out Rawcliffe 20 minutes after low tide (about 14:30) and was able to negotiate them relatively easily, apart from lots of debris washed in by the tide. Eventually made it over Shard Bridge and followed the estuary trail next to the river to it's mouth, ultimately touching the Beach Lighthouse in Fleetwood to finish at 16:43, just after the sun had set.
An amazing route for it's variation of terrain, but gruelling on the legs for the same reason. Also...styles...lots of them!
