I really enjoy perusing the FKT website as we travel, as there are so many interesting routes out there. It's always great to explore new places, and Mount Falcon is one of them for me. What a neat set of trails!
My legs did some solid climbing, and I didn't push them overly much with a big race coming up. The trails are well-signed and mostly runnable. Great views of Denver and the mountains to the west. I was happy to discover this route was still available, before the fast Colorado ladies start getting after it.
Neat to see the Summer White House site and the Walker Ruins. Love the tower at the top of the mountain.
The FKT gpx file doesn't include several short segments that are on the trail map, so my OCD self had to do them anyway: Walker Home Ruins, the ends of Castle Trail and Parmalee at the west trailhead, the trail to the tower (in addition to the bypass trail), and the west end of Meadow Trail.
Fun day on the mountain, thank you Lapo for setting this up!
