I really enjoy this trail! I kept thinking all day about Paddy's comment to "Drop whatever you're doing right now and go run these trails." It was so much fun the first time (when I ran the standard route last year) that I returned to attempt an out-and-back. What a beautiful day, chilly and sunny, clear air and wonderful views in all directions. The only minor challenge was some mud from all the recent rain. The French Trail is still longer than expected (in both directions). I think someone added extra (and steep) bumps to the ridge at the north end of Wildcat. The effort was worth it!
