I started at the the Roaches tea room in Upper Hulme and went clockwise as I wanted to get the busy section out of the way first.

After I passed the Luds Church area navigation began to get a little trickier. Up to and on from Flash the pathways were so disused that navigation became time consuming. Lots of the route was hidden in overgrowth and some stiles and passes were blocked by farmers. One had barb wire fence and the other piles of loose gravel blocking the route.

The weather conditions were ace. It was a sunny warm day but soggy and boggy under foot which made it difficult to get any momentum.

Further on in the route were some precarious road sections where real care had to be taken due to speeding cars.

I travelled self supported carrying 2 litres of voom nutrition, 2 cans of tenzing and various gels and food.

A pretty challenging route but enjoyable none the less.
