The original Alta Via n. 1 of the Dolomites starts at Braies and ends at Belluno!
I set off from the northern shore of Lake Braies, then made my way to the Biella mountain hut, Sennes, Lagazuoi, and Passo Falzarego.
I followed the route through Crosa da Lago, then the town of Fiume, Forcella Staulanza, Coldai, Vazzoler, Carestiato, and Passo Duran.
From there begins the most challenging stretch—but also the most meaningful—which I want to emphasize as an essential part of the full-length version: Malga Moscesin, rifugio Pian de Fontana, Forcella Marmol, Bivacco, the Piero Rossi via ferrata, rifugio 7° Alpini, Case Bortot, and finally Belluno, at piazza dei Martiri.
