Overall, a nice day for a run! Sure there was show, but it wasn't deep or slippery. Sure I did get slightly wet, but not soaked. The temp actually stayed a degree or two above freezing, and the wind wasn't bad at all.

I started on the west end of McDonald Woods Forest Preserve, where the Millenium Trail goes away from US Hwy 45. From there it goes south, going into Rollins Savanna Forest Preserve. Then the route stays south, exciting Rollins Savanna, onto the Grayslake Bike Path. Next the route goes on the north and east rage of Prairie Crossing. The last section is the Casey Trail, which goes from US Hwy 45 to the Des Plaines River Trail, in Independence Grove Forest Preserve. Finally, I turned around and reversed my route.

The toughest section wasn't a specific section of the route, as I have run these trails many times. Instead, it was my left foot bothering me. It was an annoyance for sure. I'll just take it easy for a few days.

Hydration included Nuun Hydration, which I had every two miles. My fuel included GU Energy Labs gels at miles 6, 14, and 22, applesauce at mile 10, and V8 at mile 18. Entertainment included many of my favorite podcasts!

Post-run, I had a Picky Bar, Skittles, and the rest of my Nuun!
