I ran this FKT as an out-an-back, but this wasn't listed as an option right now. As a backup, I did take a picture of my watch at the halfway point, and included this in the submission.
This run was a pretty simple one. I had to start in the afternoon because of a roofing work at my house. The advantage of starting later was it was a little warmer and I had the opportunity to rest and relax the first part of the day. The weather was slightly above freezing, with a slight breeze. There was a little fog and mist from time to time. The route was mostly a paved bike path. There were two sections of road running. The toughest sections included some sections of melted snow and rain water across the path, and one section that was snow covered. One of the puddles was very deep and long, which I has no choice but to run straight through, both times. It left my feet feeling frozen for a few minutes after. Not fun.
I went harder south and west to the turnaround, averaging 7:22/mi. The return was at an 8:06/mi average. The hydrated with Nuun Hydration Fruit Punch. I fueled with two Sublime Lime GU Energy gels. I passed quote a few people walking dogs, one other runner, and ever a small Opossum! I tried getting a picture of it, but couldn't get my phone out quick enough. Another fun part was almost getting stopped by a train. Thankfully, it passed about 1 minute before I reached the crossing.
Overall, everything went as planned. Looking forward to conquering another FKT soon!
