A beautiful beautiful route.
Arriving by public transport we started day one late, taking advantage of Scotland's wild camping laws in Fochabers. Day two took in Speyside distillery, leaping salmon, running deer, and the wettest night I've ever spent in a tent. Day three involved the most magical view near Tamdhu distillery, a trip to Arberlour distillery, and sun! Day four started with Ballindalloch distillery then, opting not to take the spur, a trudge through the toughest section of hills and uneven paths. Feet and spirits were breaking, but a night in a bed at Grantown helped. Following a morning at the Cairn distillery, a brilliant day took us to Aviemore and another bed indoors, followed by a final fling along the newer section to Newtonmore.
