FKT: Matthew Matta, Brandon Latimer - Roaring Brook Trail - 2022-03-27

On March 27, Brandon and myself ran out-and-back on the Roaring Brook Trail in Fahnestock State Park. We started at the southern trailhead after realizing that the campground on the north end was still closed for the winter and that would have added a 1/4 mile or so with parking. It was a cloudy day with temps in the upper 30s. We held back a bit on the way out and picked up the pace a little coming back. We had both forgotten how technical the southern few miles are. We saw 4 or 5 people on the trail even with the cold and the mud. Our watches recorded around 14.8 miles with 2400' of gain. Our back half was faster, around 1:15 for the one way. We ran by ourselves, unsupported.
