I wasn't real happy with my 24 hour effort two years ago when I was trying to recover from long Covid. This unsupported effort went better. I started at 11:19 am on Peekamoose. I ran the Catskill 9, then Panther, then an extended Devil's Path (adding Sherrill, N Dome, Hunter, and SW Hunter to the standard 5 DP 35ers) finishing on Indian Head at 10:47 am for a total of 19 peaks. The temperature was good, although it rained a little and was already super muddy from more than an inch of rain the previous couple days. I carried around 7000 calories and there was plenty of water to filter. I had one mile that took almost an hour, bushwhacking off of N Dome through the worst nettles I've seen, where I almost stepped on a fawn that was sleeping. It still didn't wake up. It was cool to be able to see most of the other peaks on the route from a couple of viewpoints along the way. I slept seven minutes total, climbing up Hunter. When I finished I biked back to my car. The addition of a 20th peak will make this quite challenging.
