On August 9, 2021 I ran up and down Laramie Peak. I was the only one staying at Friend Park Campground the night before, a hidden Wyoming gem. I started at 6:43am. This was my third time attempting it this year, my first two attempts foiled by snow and a slight hip issue.
I came up short on the Strava segment ascent time by a couple minutes, but I was confident I could get the car-to-car FKT based on my previous attempts. The descent went well except for a quick tuck and roll on one of the smoother sections where I tried to pick up some more time.
I got back to the trailhead at 8:32am. I ran by myself, unsupported. I consumed 8oz of water and 100 calories. I didn’t see anyone else.
