We ran this loop last fall in the dark and it seemed like such a cool ridgeline that I wanted to go back and see it in the day. I ran this the day after I ran up to the Truchas Peaks so I wasn't well rested. I also probably shouldn't have slept at 8500' the night before, though it was nice and cool. I saw a few hikers on the trail but once I got up on the ridge I didn't see anyone else. It was gorgeous, and certainly easier to navigate in the daylight. It was neat being able to see several 14ers to the north. I brought 1 1/2 liters of water/Gatorade. I flew back home that evening. From Strava it looks like Peter Gilroy had the previous FKT in 7:37, though it doesn't sound like he was trying to go super fast. There is still quite a bit of room for improvement on this one.
