On September 7th, 2021 I ran the Shingobee Connection Trail in north-central Minnesota. I started at 9:23 am and ran north to south to north. It was a beautiful morning with temps in the 60s. I added a little extra distance with an out-and-back about 1.5 miles in. Those who run this in the future should be careful not to follow the bike path sign that takes you through a tunnel under the road to the National Forest office and visitor center. Otherwise this route is fairly easy to follow. Be careful when crossing Highway 371 2.5 miles in.
I got to the turnaround in 57:39, not fast enough for the 48:18 time I later found on Strava. Any one-way FKT should be faster than that. I made it back to the north end at 11:23 am. I consumed 1/2 liter of water and 100 calories. I saw one runner, some people out for a walk, and a few cyclists. I ran by myself, unsupported.
