I completed the south-to-north crossing of Phu Quoc Island, starting at An Thoi at the southern end of the island and finishing at Ganh Dau Beach in the north. The route was approximately 56km, following my planned GPX route through coastal roads, local villages and more developed areas of the island.

I started around midnight to avoid the worst of the tropical heat and humidity. I completed the entire crossing on foot, with no one running alongside me. My support crew travelled ahead on a moped, meeting me along the route and helping with supplies.

I resupplied at local convenience stores, cafés and small shops along the way, purchasing water, soft drinks, food, fresh fruit and smoothies as needed. This allowed me to replenish supplies throughout the crossing rather than relying on formal aid stations.

The biggest challenge was the humidity, which made the run physically demanding. However, the beautiful scenery along the way, from tropical coastline and beaches to jungle and local villages, more than made up for it. The overnight start helped me avoid some of the daytime heat, and the changing scenery made the crossing a memorable experience.

The attempt was completed as an open-course, point-to-point crossing, with my recorded GPS activity documenting the route and distance.
