This was a route that I knew existed and a friend Brian Eisner had shared some of the beta for how the ridge could be connected as a high route from the Timpooneke trailhead as a large loop. This is an alternative to the, now closed, Timpanogos Traverse; however there's still space for a point to point route that starts at one trailhead and ends at another.
The weather was phenomenal on the day we tried this route with cool temps and partial cloud cover. Very grateful to have escaped the heat. Two technical cruxes, moving from the NE ridge onto the N ridge of Timp and then descending from the col between S Timp and Main Timp onto the Timp glacier is quite steep.
Fantastic day out in the mountains - perhaps the best ridge traverse in the Wasatch?
I hope getting this route and time up here gets some other folks to try for a really fast attempt!
