The trail was mostly in great condition with a few super muddy and slippery sections from the recent heavy rains. Sunny spring Saturday! The trail was busier than ideal for a hard effort. Overall the trail was runable, gorgeous and fun! I followed the TrailRunProject directions and used Laurel Walker's FKT Strava Route to navigate in real time. I got a little lost at the top but eventually found the short road section to get the summit. Body felt heavy and legs were trashed from a big cross training day Wednesday. Flew as fast as I could down and learned so many humbling rookie FKT lessons especially for navigating and being efficient on trail in a race effort. I left some meat on the bone and had a blast running up and down Mt Erie for my 1st FKT!!!
