Day 1: Welcome to the Rugged and beautiful! One of my favorite sections of the entire coast! Late start chasing tides all day in challenging conditions. Swim a river, gloves on climb a rope ladder, gloves off run Bluff dirt single track thru old growth forest, gloves on and descend rope ladder to a gorgeous runnable beach! Disneyland for trail running! Fully in my element and happy place today! Body showed up, mind was present, cup overflowed, Today is why we run the coast. Day 2: Swimming the Quillayute River to start the day was an awesome way to launch the Run Aquatic :) Full send for Cape Flattery finish even with another late start due to logistics. Caught the tail end of the tides and ended up wading chest deep around 6 or 7 Headlands. 8 miles of boulders with high tide meant 13 miles of boulders. I moved really well thru the challenging terrain...determined and focused I kept finding a path forward whether logs or boulders, rocks, tide pools, kelp, or the pacific ocean. I had a smile on my soul all day...Shi Shi Beach and trail at night was terrible....smile on my face face for most of the day. 3rd Day: Late start again due to logistics. An easy 10-ish miles made hard by all the miles. Proud and happy to be done with the Wilderness Coast!! Already ready to run it back and shave serious time off this fun effort!
