Smugglers Way FKT
very enjoyable run on a nice day in Cornwall on holiday!
supported run as my friends met me at 37km in Draynes gave me some more food and water.
started off in Boscastle lovely small village at exactly 8am took a wrong turn straight out out of the village but didn't add much time. then proceeded to fall over a few km later, not used to running with a heavy pack on.
nice route through Bodmin moor some smooth running and I picked a good day as it was dry and sunny for most of the run.
met my friends at around 37km gave the boost I needed and they ran with me for around 4km. after they left the mobile data disappeared for the rest of the run and a pain in my knee meant the pace slowed quite a bit.
beautiful route however some parts are through private property I was lucky not to run into anyone as there were some big stretches that weren't a footpath but it is managable.
finally made it into busy Looe friend were waiting and got a great burger from one of the many restaurants.
finished at 15:32 I have some picture but can't upload them on here hopefully I can find a way to get them up to show the route.
did the route in one pegasus 40s it was fine as it was end of summer but defo recommend a trail shoe if any other time of year.
