I recently posted a new Women's FKT Hut Traverse on 8/26/2017 in 15:12. I started at Carter at 4:28AM and finishing at Lonesome at 7:40PM. I was alone for the first 2/3 of the trip, accompanied by my old friend Steve Rosenman from South Twin to Lonesome Lake. Weather was very White Mountains and essentially perfect: very cool temps along the presis, cloudy/foggy with gentle winds during the morning. Overcast clouds kept temps cool in the valley around Mt. Tom and Zealand. We had gorgeous views from a very windy and cold Lafayette and an almost autumnal morning on Saturday at Lonesome.
(2 movescount files, since my GPS from Carter > 19 MB TH was set only to "OK", rather than "Best" and said the route was 7 miles. i reset the function and started a new tracker. But the starting timestamp is included: www.movescount.com/moves/move173624178
remainder of the traverse, but watch died close to the TH for OBP: www.movescount.com/moves/move173624234)
Thanks to the croos of Carter, Galehead, and Lonesome for some especially warm hospitality and generosity. You hut croos make this the most fun challenge ever!
I look forward to seeing where the next woman pushes this record - i think sub-14 hours is 100% possible.
Cheers,
Megan
