5:59am Headlight start at Heinan. Made the summit at 01:55 into the effort. Descended the west side down to Deer Creek where I filtered water. Legs felt good at this point. Navigation went well. Followed Arrowrock Rd to Cervidae where I summited at 05:26 into the effort. My uphill legs started feeling it here. Went down the backside to Highway 21 to get to the Adelmann Mine trail. Refilled my water at a creek 1 mile in. Summited Shaw at 08:15 into the effort. I was starting to slow down at this point. Descended down Highland Valley to Highway 21 and dropped 150 feet to the shore to refill my water for the last time out of Lucky Peak Reservoir. Went over Bonneville Pass to get to Blacks Creek road and started the long uphill slog to Kepros. Summited at 15:05 and made it back to the car at 10:25pm for a final time of 16:25:40. My legs felt trashed. But my cardio, nutrition, clothing layers, and navigation were all on point today. Overall a great experience and a fun way to celebrate my birthday.
