I happened to be in the area recently, so I decided to give this a shot. I scoped out the route on July 27, took my time enjoying the scenery (attached in case anyone's interested), and calculated that while I probably would be able to beat the former 20:47 and 20:45 FKTs for one lap, I likely wouldn't be able to get under the current 18:16 time. So I figured I'd return a week later (August 3) and see what I could do for two laps.

The first lap was pretty much what I expected - a steep uphill at first, then a shallower uphill slope, followed by a downhill and a flat-ish section at the end. Knowing that I had another lap to go, I held back a bit and finished lap 1 in 21:42. But despite easing back on lap 1, that steep uphill on lap 2 was an absolute quad-buster, and I ended up power-walking a few short sections instead of running it. I ended up finishing lap 2 in 22:24 for a total time of 44:06.

In case anyone's curious about the logistics side, there's on-site parking, but the lot was 90-95% full when I went there (Thursday evenings). The nearly-full lot meant that there were quite a few people out there to dodge, but thankfully, the trail/road is fairly wide. Most people are walkers (some with their dogs) who're going counterclockwise, though you'll occasionally come across a few joggers, a few people heading in the opposite direction (clockwise), and maybe one or two mountain bikers. There's a small amount of car traffic on the residential streets, but it's usually light.

I feel that there's plenty of room for improvement out there and that someone should be able to take a few minutes off my time. Heck, I might even give it another shot someday...
