FKT: Mike Beix - White River State Trail (WI) - 2021-11-06

On Saturday, November 6, I attempted to set the out and back FKT for the White River State Trail. It was great day day to be on the trail. Temperature was in the upper 30's at the start and upper 50's at the finish. It was a little breezy on the way out, but provided a much needed tailwind for the return trip. I chose to start at the eastern trailhead due to the general upward elevation gain going west. The trail was in great condition and the city streets of Burlington were easy to navigate (after studying the map!). My friends Mike and Carolyn paced me for the middle 26 miles of the trip and my wife Cheryl provided aid along the way. I highly recommend running on this trail - beautiful scenery and very few people on the trail.
