Thank you Thad for coming up with the route and submitting the first known FKT.
I started around 8 am on Saturday, November 9th at The Big Duck in Flanders, NY. I traveled from there to Greenport and caught the North Ferry to Shelter Island. After crossing Shelter Island I boarded the South Ferry to Sag Harbor. From Sag Harbor I ventured my way back to The Big Duck.
This was a supported effort as I had my wife and son following along. I carried a hydration vest with water and gels, and I reloaded at the South Ferry with more water and gels. I ran from the South Ferry to about 51 Miles before ditching the vest for a handheld bottle and waistbelt for the final ~6 Miles.
I ran what I felt was a consistent effort throughout with the body ebbing and flowing with feeling great and not so good. Took 6 potty stops, 2 ferry rides, and went through 23 gels and ~4 liters of water.
