An early, dark start to the day. I geared up with my new running belt, filled with 1000ml of water and 8 gels (~300g of carbs), along with a 500ml handheld bottle. This was to be my fuel and hydration for the run, seeing as I didn't bring my filter on the trip. I was forced to wear a headlamp without enough light at pre-dawn. Due to the dark, I had trouble finding the start of the Sandy River Trail #770. There was a log over the Sandy River, making for a simple traverse. Navigating my way back to the trail in the dark proved challenging. Eventually, I made my way to the Pacific Crest Trail #2000. Once I reached the Muddy Fork river for the first time, there was again an easy log to traverse across. I speed-hiked up the switchback climb, admiring the wild flowers as I went, until I reached the intersection with the Timberline Trail #600. As I ran around Bald Mountain, I was met with spectacular views of Mt. Hood, making the trip well worth it. I then made my way down, ducking under countless logs, to ford (carefully, given the rushing water) Muddy Fork drainage twice. Once I crossed, the trail became overgrown as I made my last small climb before descending to the lacy Ramona Falls. In the home stretch of the Pacific Crest Trail #2000 and then back onto the Sandy River Trail, I tried to power through to the finish despite a slight calf strain that I felt over the last few miles. Overall, it was well worth the effort, and I would certainly do it again! Thanks to @Connor O'Brien for submitting the route.
