I warmed up with a 1.5mi/500' climb from my doorstep to the Garden trailhead and immediately felt strong as I climbed up to the First Brother. All three Brothers were very dry. The "scrambling" was extremely fun and my body was responding well to what I wanted it to do. I changed into micro-spikes for the last final push up to the summit of Big Slide. I took a few pics atop, then gingerly descended the ice sheets and a few ladders before I was able to take off the spikes, store em in my pack, and blast back over the Brothers and down to the Garden TH. Every footstep was perfect as I danced back down. I ran strong all the way back down to my home. Great run.
I improved my PR to 1:32, on a muggy July 28 morning. However, it wasn't enough to get the FKT. Since I ran 1:45 / created the FKT, Frankie DiSomma bettered my time with a 1:36. Then, Aaron Newell bettered Frankie's time with a 1:28. Not long after Aaron's new record, Jason Pageau and Lee Berube each went after the record on the same day, unbeknowst to both of them. Jason ran a 1:31. Lee ran a 1:24, but hasn't uploaded to this site.
