Great day with great company. Glad John agreed to take this on with me. It was a little cold (~15F) at the start, but warmed up nicely throughout the day into the low 30s. Initially we thought we may be able to take a crack at the overall FKT, but about 10 miles in we realized that it was not going to be possible. Hats off to Michael and James...that time is impressive! There was more climbing than we expected (we got 5500-6000 feet while it seems others were in the low to mid 4000s) but the trails were in really good shape overall and nicely covered with snow. The only real low point from a trail standpoint was the western part of the middle loop crisscrossing over an icy stream multiple times. Favorite parts of the trail included the majority of the south loop and the pine plantation on the north loop. We refilled with water twice at camp 3 (at the beginning & end of the north loop), but I believe that this still counts as an unsupported effort.
