Samantha Homan (she/hers) and Nicole Fyvie (they/she) started at the Canton end of the Blue Hills Skyline Trail to hike an out-and-back. It was cold at the start, and we appreciated the early ascents to warm up. Approaching Eliot Tower, we took the North Skyline loop first. We made good time to almost the end of the trail at Shea Rink, where we found the trail flooded by Saint Moritz Pond. Looking for a path next to the shin deep muddy water was useless, and there was no easy way around that section either, so we took a deep breath and waded through. Hello freezing toes! And so much fun to do it again on the way back ten minutes later. Overall a great day. We met some fun folks and fluffy dogs, and heard five different languages spoken on the trail.
