Lovely sunny spring day, blue skies, chilly start. Headed out at 7.30am, from Newton St Loe trig, with a few cheers from coach and fellow Bath Bat, Kerry Sutton.
Headed around this beautiful route clockwise, taking in all 10 trigs. I ran unsupported, carrying food and water and filling up once at the spring in Swainswick...a very useful spot about 12 miles in. I did have a filter on my flask but t be honest looks fresh and clean.
A few golfers and frisky cows to dodge but otherwise all went according to plan.
Spectacular views over Bath, particularly from Kelston and Solsbury Hill. Some route variations around Englishcombe and the way back up to Newton St. Low at the finish. I took the route that I have run previously with Bath Bats and I hope respects the original route choice by Dan Booth. Apart from a small section of busy road by Odd Down park and ride it is mostly off road or small lanes.
Welcomed back in to Newton St Loe by Kerry followed by cake and coffee at the Farm Shop. A very enjoyable morning all round, can definitely recommend it.
