Started around 4 AM. Probably I was the first person at mt. Adatara this day. Soon after leaving the summit there is a nice view of the Numanodaira Crater. Met a few hikers on Mt. Higashi-Azuma. Then it were lots of hikers on the ascend to mt. Issaikyo. From the top you can see a beautiful lake Goshiki (also called Witch Eye).
After that a slow forest trail (roots, rocks and mud) continues till mt. Higashi-Daiten. Then a wooden road is made on highland swamps. After mt. Nishi-Daiten trail goes down to Ura-Bandai area and passing five colored lakes. I was there around sunset. Then in the dark I did final traverse of mt. Bandai and finished in Inawashiro around 10PM.
Nutrition: 20 energy gels, 5 onigiri.
Hydration: started with 2 litres of sports drink, refilling 1 liter of water at public tap at Ura-Bandai parking lot just before entering five lake trail. There are natural streams on the trail, 1 liter of liquid on the start is enough.
