Route: Adatara - Azuma - Bandai Volcano trail

This trail connects three active volcanoes in Bandai-Asahi National Park: mt. Adatara, mt. Azuma and mt. Bandai. These mounting are in the list of famous 100 Japanese mountains. The route is passing beautiful lakes: Witch's Eye on the mt.Azuma ridge, Goshiki-numa (Five-Colored Ponds) on the foot of mt. Bandai.

Most of the route is a hiking trail, except about 15kms of asphalt: start, transition between Adatara and Azuma ridges, end.

There are enough natural water sources on the trail. Usual hiking season is from July till October.  

Start and finish are in Buko onsen and Inawashiro, both accessed by public transport.
