Completed unsupported which means I carried everything I need from start to finish. I didn't have any external help.

The day was good. I arrived in the North the night before. Slept in the van and set of at 7am as soon as I finished my coffee.

The weather was improving with every minute. But the wind picked up for a good few hours! I was on the highest tops of the Trotternish Ridge when the wind and low cloud was making things harder for me. It was very cold. I was only thinking about going faster and finishing this ridge as fast as I can to get out of the wind and warm up on the lower grounds.

All that was forgotten when I reached the Old Man of Store (weather improved and the sun was out!) I always wanted to visit this place and I had a great first visit!

The first section to Portree was very hard - 56km with around 2500 of elevation can take it out of you.

The wet, saturated ground was present from start to finish. Every step was a splash. The narrow coastal paths were very narrow and challenging, full of slippery and sharp rocks. There were places where you couldn't put your two feet next to each other it was that narrow. One side a grassy steep slope, on the other a 50-100m vertical rocky drop to the ocean.

Running on the road from Portree to Sligachan was challenging in full sun. Probably because the hills took the energy out of me. I slowly regain composure and started pushing forward.

Next came Sligachan, my favourite place of all probably because I ran the Glamaig Hill Race a couple of times in the past so I knew the area. The temperature was going up and there was no sign of clouds in the sky. A complete opposite to the morning on the Trotternish Ridge where I got very cold, wet and the visibility was 10m max due to the thick cloud.

The southern cliffs around Elgol tested me. The very technical cliffs demand 100% focus and it was very hard to keep going. The last 30km was a sprint finish to the end. I knew I can get the record, I just had to keep on keeping on.

Various mixed terrain changing with every mile. Landslides, bog, track, rocks, narrow muddy paths, slippery rocks, marshlands, wet grass, slippery slopes.

There was plenty of water in the hills. Great route!

This is a run I will never forget. I always wanted to do it.

I can see Skye from my house windows. I always dreamt of completing this route and I finally done it in the fastest time.
