The first thought about facing the Głównym Szlakiem Puszczy Kampinoskiej appeared in April 2020. Then, due to Lockdown, most sports events were canceled.
From the very beginning, it was an unsupported and solo start. But I put off this attempt for weeks to come. At the beginning of summer, a few people did the trail and had nice results, but their declining pace in the second part of the distance showed that in summer it can be difficult to keep up with my pace. Therefore, I postponed the start.
I started to think about the trail again when it became clear that this year there would be no competition anymore due to Covid19.
Initially, I planned the start on November 14. On October 27 Bartek contacted me and ask wouldn't I accompany him on this route next Saturday in 4 days? Why not.
The weather had turned to ideal. 10 degrees and no wind or rain.
During the week, we discussed the strategy. And on Saturday, a few minutes before 7 am, we stood at the beginning of the trail. The weather was as forecast but around 6 am there was a fog which lowered the temperature to about 2 degrees at the start.
Everything we needed was in our backs. 1.25 liter of water or isotonic, each with 4 gels, 1 energy bar. I took jelly beans and dried apricots and Bartek took the dextro. The time set is 4:30:00. We planned a negative split. Despite the cold and a few short breaks, the race was going according to our plan till 48 km when we lost the route for the first time. The next time we made the wrong turn it was on 52km. We also have the problem of finding the ending point. These few mistakes on my part made us finally do the tour a little longer than 4:30:00.

It was a great experience and I hope that this year we will be able to find time to face other trails of the Kampinos Forest
