Rees - Dart as fast as I could. It was a perfect day with mild temperatures, clear skies and low rivers. Some good bird watching on the way with Takahē and Rock Wren spotted on the Rees side.
I went anti clockwise but halfway around I started questioning my choice. Still not sure which way would be better.
The fastest I could see previously publicly posted was 9:15 and so I set out to try and improve that time. Near the end I pushed my self to go under 8 hours however 2km from the finish felt very tired and had to walk for a km so fair to say I gave it a good go but came up just short of the sub 8. If only I hadn't spent those 5 mins bird watching.

I didn't take any water with me and refilled from streams along the way. There is never more than 30 minutes without clean drinking water.
