Bamforth Ridge / Long Trail up & down
4h 52m 52s
Summitted Camel's Hump via the Long Trail South (Duxbury Trailhead) on this toasty VT summer day. The trail was relatively dry (as far as Vermont hiking goes) - the route up has several views of the Hump - which looks deceivingly far away each time. It also saves ~ 1000' feet of climbing for the final mile - nothing like a good old slog to the top. Stopped for summit snacks & then boogie'd on down. Pretty low traffic day on the trail (aside from the popular summit itself and Duxbury window), just a handful of thru-hikers.
