At the Bull of the Woods TH, I turned on the Garmin, loaded the route (I had saved Jeff Cuno's effort), and started. I know about .5 miles in the watch was still rolling but somewhere in the next quarter mile it glitched, unbeknownst to me. I restarted from where I was and determined to close the loop at the end by running back up to my second start point. Seemed the most logical thing to do at the time. Hardest 0.7 miles of my life, by the way.
Not even 2 miles in, the vault at the Williams Lake TH was a beautiful site; I made a brief stop before heading on up the trail. Rest of the route went mostly smoothly. Stopped to snap some pictures along the way. Got a little turned around at the top of Bull-of-the-Woods; but that's what I get for leaving the glasses in the car. I also thought I got off course briefly toward the end and doubled back but I think either way would have been ok.
